Dvora Ganani Jerusalem, Israel - DTB Israel Partner
On August 14, 2013 at Ben Gurion Airport a Jewish family returns home from Yemen in the first arrival of a secret operation involving the Jewish Agency and the U.S. State Department which pulled Jewish families out of harms way and reunited them with family members in Israel.
In March of 2016 Fourteen of the last remaining Jews in Yemen desiring to escape arrived in Israel. This extreme event was the conclusion of a covert rescue mission that recently brought home to Israel a total of 200 Yemenite Jews. Fourteen of the last group came from Raydah and five from Sannaa Yemen. The community Rabbi carried an irreplaceable 500-600 year old Torah scroll back home to Israel.
Deuteronomy 30 ; 3-5
“then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.
If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back.
The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.”
“Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the LORD, “you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.
“Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.
The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, ‘This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.’
Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these—where have they come from?’ ”
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I will beckon to the nations, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their hips.”
